The Suicide Squad Director James Gunn revealed that Harley Quinn's breakout scene in the movie was born from his work on Lollipop Chainsaw with Suda51. Outside of its cult following, Lollipop Chainsaw has had some influence in mainstream media. Following Juliet Starling, a cheerleader who finds herself in the middle of a zombie outbreak at her high school, the game was praised for its charm, wackiness, and originality that made it so popular with fans. While some critics saw Lollipop Chainsaw as more of a mixed bag, that didn't stop the stylish action experience from getting a cult following. Initially launching in 2012, hack-and-slash zombie game Lollipop Chainsaw saw mostly positive reviews upon its release.
